Football 2009-10

Postby Cla-Wi » Sun Jan 10, 2010 9:49 pm

Sorry guys, I always root for your teams when they aren't playing mine. I really thought GB was going to the SB. I had them picked with SD. I'm not exactly sold on SD, but they are the only local-ish team that I enjoy. Gotta respect the Niners D, but anyways. I thought the Packers D was going to do more. Warner steps it up for the playoffs though, so you never know. ARZ can every bit of blow me deeply.

As for the Bengals, I figured the last game didn't mean anything. Sadly, I think they did too. It should have been an eye opener. I still think Carson Palmer can be great, so it was shocking to see the Delhomme-ish post-surgery high passes. Still a great season, I had Cedric Benson on my champ FF team this year, so I had an extra reason to follow them. They came out of this season much better than they started it, so onto next year with momentum. I like Shayne Graham, but wtf was up with his kicks? He filled in for Kasay and many wanted him around.

As for Carolina, we lost Jake in 07 and Double-Trouble 08 hid his flaws. The guy can't get the ball deep to Smitty anymore, so the rest of his "abilities" no longer apply. You guys might remember me being on that Matt Moore guys nuts in 07, so it shouldn't be shocking what's going on now. That dude can match whatever Mark Sanchez does and I've seen plenty of both of them. That'll be enough for us. Getting rid of Trgovac as our DC was the best choice we've made in a while, Meeks is the man. He's made Pep consider staying this time, so we'll see.

B-Luv and Exit, you get what you get for following Dallas. Lol, jk. A girl that's "on my mind" likes Dallas too, so I hope the 3 of you get your jollies off if you win. I'm not a Jerry Jones fan, prefer guys like Richardson. For what it's worth, I had a slight man-crush on Miles Austin. He, like Mr. Benson, saved my ass multiple times this year. I still think Romo will humorously bite you in the ass soon, but he's been impressive lately.

Dousi's Titans and Sodan's Falcons will be back next year with my Panthers, so I hope you guys enjoyed the absence. :P

Wait so Tolbat likes Dallas too? It wouldn't be a shocker to see Romo choke it out, but so far they have been looking good. Hopefully they keep that fire.

Oh yeah, ain't Avelio a Raider fan? I'll just let him address that. At least Nnamdi Asomugha kicks ass.

Yeah, Al Davis just needs to, you know...go away.

The Dallas game was pretty fugly. Wasn't watching closely, but I noticed the o-line clearly blew. The big tripper got hurt, so that couldn't have helped things.

I guess I'm rooting for a MIN and IND SB. Favre and Peyton would be pretty slick and it would be cool to see Brett pull this off after all the drama.

I can't get into the Katrina Saints being an NFC South fan. They have finally lived up to the sexy hype they've been getting for years. Breesus kicks ass, but Bushie will always be an over-hyped douche.

I really don't care either way when it comes to the Jets.

I hope the Jets smash the Colts because of the shit Indy pulled. Them doing that let the Jets in the playoffs so it would be very nice sting if they got beat by that same team.

Haha, that'd be perfect. I'm officially on board with that one.

I was actually rooting for Favre to beat the Saints. I thought he played a hell of a game, even with that INT (which did NOT decide the game contrary to talking-head belief).

Putting the ball on the ground 5 times and having a 12-man penalty AFTER a timeout is what did that team in. It was the ultimate giveaway on the Vikings part. They had their opportunities several times over. Reminded me a lot of the 2007-08 NFC Championship game. The Pack had every chance but the Giants just kept hanging around and eventually took the game.

As for the Super Bowl, I'm rooting for the Saints, but I think the Colts are the offensive equivalent of the Saints, but with a better D. The Colts win, 31-21.

I think the Saints will pull it off. I'll be happy for Drew Brees, the dude is class and it's cool that he's come this far after his Charger days. I'll still be rooting for for the Colts though. The Saints are the perfect example of a shit franchise getting media hype and bandwagon fans. Nobody talks about the team trying to get out of town before the disaster, only that they stayed for the city afterward.

It's nice seeing the NFC South continuing to rotate deep in the playoffs. As long as the Buccs don't do something crazy, it should be our turn next.

As for Favre, the turnover before OT was pretty bad when he could have picked up 5 yards easy enough for a FG attempt. Obviously he had a huge hand in what brought them down, but it was definitely a team effort. Adrian Peterson has a serious case of fumblitis and it showed up as well. A turnover fest is the worst way to go out.

Game was ok, very disappointed with the commercials. Since there's not as much money during a recession they really had about half of them were trash ass plain lame commercials. Gotta love Favre in 2020 though and the little kid Doritos one. Didn't really care who won as I don't most years anymore since I like the 49ers and they don't do shit anymore. At least I'm not a Raiders or Rams fan.

I think the commercials have been shit for years now. I don't remember when it started, but Budweiser getting shit for the Bud Bowl and Frogs changed things. As for the game, that on-side kick changed everything. Very memorable moment. It cracks me up that it happened to Hank Baskett, but I'm a hater like that.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the Niners soon. They have question marks, but those question marks are surrounded with exclamations. They are very close to taking that division over for a few years if they can stay healthy and deal with the obvious.
